Jose Sosa with deep family roots in the Dominican Republic moved at the age of 7 to the hustle and bustle of the metropolitan area of New York City.

Sosa as he is commonly referred, taught himself the art of barbering while raised by his family in Yonkers. He quickly went on to gain the skills needed to enter his first barber shop. During his early years of experience he would go on to excel at learning the fundamentals of his trade and would continue his job for years to come.

Sosa grabbed influences from all various forms of inspiration and began to tackle the mundane life of barbering through the eyes of an artist. With his skill set reaching a near perfect point his ambition would come to fruition with his artistic identity launching in 2013 as LXVESOSA.

This new found identity brought Sosa face to face with an increasing clientele expanding to include names such as Macy’s, L’Oreal, and Bloomingdales. Even though hired at full time for Kiehl’s 1851 Barber Shop, in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen of New York’s busy Midtown, he maintained a healthy family and community outreach. Sosa’s talent garnered him recognition. Sosa agreed to take on his audacious dreams of growing and with a strike of confidence he left his already established foundation of New York and left for Vegas in 2013.

Positioning himself as a professional Concierge Barber he not only grew in network but vastly diversified his skill set to include styling, fashion and high end service. From trade shows to television and from local shops to private saloons, the LXVESOSA brand that he invented in his earlier years was beginning to take shape and his work has become synonyms with an outstanding clientele, artistic expression and self improvement. For now Sosa concentrates on growing as a Master Barber and has made it a mission to help, teach, and nourish barbers trying to change their lives for the best. “
